AUDI Q7 3.0 TDI - 2009 September Released

AUDI is committed to start the selling of its SUV model named AUDI Q7 3.0 TDI a premium 3-row SUV; it will appear in showrooms during September of 2009. In fuel economy competition Audi suite up to be evidence for Americans prospective of the Audi's diesel engines. The turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 diesel in AUDI Q7 is capable of generating 221-hp which is more than the 350-hp 4.2-L gas V8 engine found in Audi’s 2007 Q7 model. The Audi Q7 TDI reaches 30 mph within 2.7 seconds and 45 mph within 5 seconds which is greater than the Audi Q7 with 4.2-L V8 engine. EPA estimation tests are yet to complete, but Audi Q7 will shine in that list by giving suggested mileage as 18 or 19 mpg in city and 25 mpg in highways.

Audi Q7 3.6 FSI Quattro and Audi Q7 4.2 FSI Quattro are the other models launched along with AUDI Q7 3.0 TDI.

 

Audi A5 - Expected on Aug 2009

The Audi has designed AUDI A5 from its previous models A4 & A6.Combination of those models definitely will show the brilliancy of design in AUDI A5. It is expected to come India as a CBU (complete built unit), possibly with the option of multiple engines.

Volkswagen, Porsche finalise merger deal

Volkswagen will be merging with German sports car maker Porsche by the year 2011. VW will initially shell out 3.3 million euros to a buy a 42% stake in Porsche. The firms' supervisory boards announced that after the tie-up, VW's Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn will be the head of both Porsche and VW. The merger is a major victory for VW, and marks Porsche's failure to buy the former. In the past year, Porsche bought a 51 per cent stake in VW, but fell short of the required 75 per cent for a take over. The merger comes after years of bitter wrangling between the two car companies.

Porsche now becomes the tenth carmaker to come under VW. The others include Audi, Skoda and Seat. VW said that it would maintain Porsche's 'independence' after the merger, and would also preserve its own solid financial base.
